Unfortunately physicsoverflow is quite unused. The framework it is based on, StackExchange, is curently updated to version 2.0 and all rather inactive site, possibly including this one, will be shut down. However, a new site is already under preparation here, see here for an explanation of the process.

We hope that SE-2.0 will also include LaTeX support, as requested more than once. Please feel free to join and support those requests and the new physics proposal.

I emailed robert and he said that this site could be shutdown anytime, but they are not in a hurry, since they don't need the equipment right now. So go ahead and support the new proposal.

I assume you mean [Robert Cartaino](blog.stackoverflow.com/2010/04/…). So the question is, shall we try to help out here as much as possible or to redirect everyone to the SE 2.0 proposal which is not even in beta yet but would certainly be a reason for this site and the 1.0 physics.SE to be shut down – Tobias Jul 30 at 10:25
Yes, the same. I would say, since it isn't in beta yet, "Do both". Answer peoples questions here and have everyone commit to the proposal who can. That will get it up sooner. Spread the word as much as possible, so that we have more committers. – Arlen Beiler Jul 31 at 19:23
